This panel will investigate a variety of ethnic and indigenous “futurisms” – Afro, Latinx, Asian American, and beyond – and highlight issues of race, technology, and labor as they relate to science fiction texts across literary, filmic, and community archives. Panelists will present papers exploring what ethnic studies methodologies and a consideration of ethnic techno-cultures might offer to the study of technology, society, and questions of the future for racial minorities in the U.S. and beyond.
